Scott McKenna
LLB, BMS
Scott is an experienced litigator and leads our criminal litigation practice.
He has represented clients in most courts up to the Supreme Court and regularly acts as counsel in court trials. He is approved to criminal PAL3.
Scott has also competed to the highest level of Grand Prix in dressage, which gives him invaluable insight into the equestrian industry as well as being the current Chairman of Dressage New Zealand and a board member of Equestrian Sports New Zealand. He also co-leads the equine law practice with Fraser; and our firm acts for many of the significant organisations and entity within the equine industry.
Fraser King
LLB, MA (Hons), PhD
Fraser leads the civil litigation practice in addition to co-leading the equine practice with Scott.
He has successfully represented clients in courts up to and including the Supreme Court in a variety of different cases. Fraser is a staunch advocate of our personalised strategic approach, so our clients can gain every advantage from our legal representation.
Fraser is approved criminal PAL4 status with the Ministry of Justice, which means he is able to act on the most serious criminal cases, such as murder. He is also an international three day eventing rider and recently completed his PhD doctorate thesis in jury research.
Megan King
LLB
Megan is an experienced litigator, specialising in civil, employment, relationship property and criminal law. Megan is of Ngai Tahu iwi.
She has appeared in all New Zealand courts up to and including the Supreme Court. Megan values providing quality service and helping her clients achieve positive outcomes.
Megan is approved criminal PAL3 and has been lead counsel on many types of different criminal trials in addition to her civil litigation practice.

Amin Osama

Amin is predominantly a criminal litigator who also has extensive experience in immigration and civil disputes. Amin has criminal PAL3 approval.
For Immigration, Amin has helped many clients obtain temporary and permanent visas and successfully helped some clients avoid deportation when served with a deportation liability notice. Amin’s civil experience extends to all manners of disputes such as consumer protection claims, negligence claims, contractual disputes and debt enforcement proceedings.

Jessica Heinstman

Jessica represents many clients in our civil and criminal litigation practices. Jessica currently has PAL2 criminal approval and is able to conduct jury trials and judge alone trials as lead counsel. She also has a significant focus on employment law. She is skilled at mediation and has advocated for clients in a number of different forums up to and including the Employment Court.
Mark Fyers
LLB (Hons)
Mark brings a diverse range of experience in legal practice from his previous role. Mark is growing his experience in civil and criminal cases; and he has a personable approach with his clients. Mark has gained criminal PAL2 approval to lead judge alone trials; and has represented a number of clients in complex civil disputes.
Kelly Stone
LLB, BMS
Kelly joins the MK team from several years experience as a corporate commercial lawyer. Kelly is also a qualified chartered accountant having worked in a top four accounting firm and the public sector she has an extensive background in tax law. Kelly is a committed litigator, her previous experience has significant crossover benefits as she develops her advocacy skills in criminal and civil court cases.

After spending a short period in the Coroner's Court, Simon has joined our firm to enhance our civil and criminal litigation practice. We are excited to have Simon onboard to grow his litigation experience as a solicitor. Simon has achieved PAL1 approval.
Haley Gane

Haley joins us from previous experience in private client law practice after making a career shift to focus on litigation. Haley has a passion for criminal law and she has an exciting career as an advocate in this area of law as well as growing her experience in civil litigation cases.

Tyler-Rose Keatley

Tyler-Rose has several years' experience in civil and criminal litigation, which is a great addition to the MK team. She has PAL1 legal aid approval; and has keen interests in gym, fashion, nutrition and public speaking.

Lisa has extensive experience in law firm administration and management roles before completing her LLB and commencing her career as a lawyer with the MK team. We are pleased to have Lisa's experience with us; and we look forward to watching her career as a lawyer in civil and criminal litigation develop.
